About

Born in upstate New York, I grew up enjoying the beauty of nature with its lush, tree-filled landscapes and its bold and brilliant color spectacles. I studied drawing and painting in high school, then put this aside as I spent the next two years serving in Viet Nam. When I returned home I acquired my college degree in business and worked for many years in accounting and the I.T. field. My job took me to northern California in the 1980's where I've lived ever since.

Throughout my life I continued to find ways to be creative, spending most of my free time painting and making raku pottery. I have exhibited my paintings and pottery in numerous venues throughout northern California.

I currently work in my studio full time putting paint to canvas, exploring form, color, light, media, and the myriad challenges of creating a solid work of art. 

I live with my wife, Kathryn, an artist and children's book writer and illustrator, our cat Sammy and our dog Bailey.
